Common connection issues

Here are the most frequently encountered issues when connecting or maintaining your Meta ad account connection.

"Permission denied" during authorization

Cause: You don't have sufficient permissions on the ad account.

Fix:

1. Go to Meta Business Manager → Business Settings → People

2. Verify you have Admin or Advertiser access to the ad account

3. If not, ask your Business Manager admin to grant access

4. Try connecting again

"No ad accounts found"

Cause: Your Meta user isn't associated with any ad accounts, or you're logged into the wrong account.

Fix:

1. Make sure you're logged into the correct Meta account

2. Check that your ad accounts are in an active Business Manager

3. Try clearing your browser cookies and reconnecting

Connection keeps dropping

Cause: Usually related to token expiration or Meta security actions.

Fix:

1. Go to Settings → Connected Accounts

2. Click Reconnect on the affected account

3. Complete the OAuth flow again

4. If it keeps happening, check if Meta is enforcing additional security (e.g., 2FA changes)

Data shows but is outdated

Cause: Sync may be running on a schedule that hasn't triggered yet, or there's an API rate limit.

Fix:

1. Click Sync Now in Settings → Connected Accounts

2. Wait 5–10 minutes for the sync to complete

3. If data is still outdated after a manual sync, contact support

"Business verification required"

Cause: Meta requires business verification for certain API access levels.

Fix:

1. Complete Meta Business Verification in Business Manager → Security Center

2. This typically takes 1–3 business days

3. Once verified, reconnect your ad account

Browser-specific issues

If you're having trouble with the OAuth popup:

Disable ad blockers temporarily
Allow popups from sentrum.app
Try a different browser (Chrome recommended)
Clear browser cache and cookies
